SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury opened their 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule with a doubleheader sweep of Lincoln, winning 2-1 in game one and 7-4 in game two on Saturday at Thompson Field at Meador Park.
The Panthers improved to 6-10 and 2-0 in the GLVC, while Lincoln dropped to 8-10 and 0-2 in the conference.
Drury scored in the bottom of the seventh to win game one as
Brooklyn LaChappa singled to left field, driving in
Isabel Ervin from second base for the winning run. Lincoln tied the game in the top of the sixth, pulling even after Drury took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI double from
Avery Budde. Budde and Taylor Hartzler both went 2 for 3 at the plate for the Panthers.
Kaley Adzick (3-1) got the win in relief for Drury after
Jordyn Foley went 5.1 innings allowing only one hit and one run with two walks and a strikeout. Adzick struck out three in her 1.2 innings of relief. Abby Pulliam (4-3) took the loss for Lincoln.
Drury used three runs in the fourth and three more runs in the fifth to get past Lincoln in game two, 7-4.
The Panthers took a 3-2 lead in the fourth as Ervin capped Drury's scoring in the frame with an RBI double to left. Adzick drove in a run with a single and inning later before the Panthers tacked on two more runs on a Blue Tigers error.
Avery Budde (1-2) went 5.1 innings to get the win for Drury, while
AJ Agers went one inning to pick up her first save. Mallory Rogers (1-4) gook the loss for Lincoln.
The two games on Saturday were the first two GLVC games for the Lincoln program, who joined the conference this year.
The Panthers play again on Sunday when they travel to Missouri S&T for a doubleheader starting at noon in Rolla.
