ROLLA, Mo. – Drury and Missouri S&T split a doubleheader on the second day of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
GAME ONE, 6-4 Missouri S&T
Missouri S&T got out to an early lead in the first game of the doubleheader scoring three in the first inning.
The Panthers would answer those runs in the third inning with two runs scored.
Avery Budde would score
Sophia Luetticke.
Kenna Trower would pinch run for Budde, eventually scoring on a single from
Taylor Hartsell.
The Miners would hit a two-run homer in the bottom half to extend their lead, to 5-2.
The Drury fight was not done, a fifth-inning triple from
Taylor Hartsell scored
Avery Budde followed by a single from
Kaley Adzick to score Hartsell. The Panthers would get within one, but the surge was cut short. S&T would score one more to grab the win, 6-4.
Taylor Hartsell went 3-3 in game one with two RBIs.
Jordyn Foley and
Natalie Wilks both pitched in the game, Foley was given the loss after three innings.
GAME TWO, 10-2 Drury
The Drury offense started game two blazing. Another triple from
Taylor Hartsell would score
Avery Budde in the first.
Leading 1-0 heading into the second, Drury would score three runs to extend their lead.
AJ Agers was hit by the pitch, and the bases were loaded to score
Victoria Garland. Two batters later,
Isabel Ervin would push
Reece Anderson and
Landry Cochran across.
After the Miners scored one in the second, Drury answered with five runs in the top of the third. Garland, Cochran, Ervin, and
Sophia Luetticke all tallied RBIs in the big inning.
Drury and S&T would each score one more to activate the run rule with a Panthers win 10-2 in five innings.
Isabel Ervin and
AJ Agers both had two hits in the second game.
Kaley Adzick went the complete game striking out five and allowing two runs.

Drury will host the #5 Augustana on Tuesday at Thompson Field at Meador Park starting at noon.
