SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Pittsburg State topped Drury on Tuesday evening in Springfield at Mark Worley Field, 5-0. The loss drops Drury to 18-14 and moves Pitt State to 23-7.

Nick Panagos got his first career start against the Gorillas, and they crossed the plate two batters into the game. Pitt State was aggressive in the box and on the base paths, scoring three runs and stealing two bases in the first inning.

The Panthers picked up their first hit of the game in the second on an infield single from Connor Bain. The hit was one of six for Drury in nine innings.

Wesley Laaker shut the Gorillas down for two innings, followed by Cody Bahl, who went two innings and gave up one run in the fifth.

The Panthers return to Mark Worley Field on Saturday with one game against UMSL starting at 6 pm.
