BOLIVAR, Mo. – Drury Men's Golf finishes the first day of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships in first place out of 13 teams shooting one under par. The tournament is taking place at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar. The course is par 72 which plays 6,938 yards.
William Jewell is one stroke behind the Panthers after the first round. Indianapolis rounds out the top three, shooting six-over par. #28 Missouri-St. Louis is tied for seventh with Illinois-Springfield at 14-over. #17 Missouri S&T is in ninth place at +15.
Hunter Jowers and
Wil Claywell are leading Drury, both shooting a 71 in the first round. They are tied for fourth.
Gaige Lewis shot even and is tied for 12.
Ellton Bostrom was +1, good for 18th.
Alex Wiseman closes out the Drury lineup with a 76. He is tied for 26.
Indianapolis' Cameron Young paced everyone today, shooting four-under. Bryson Oots (William Jewell) and Kai Chun Hsu (Maryville) are tied for second at -3. There are six individuals tied with Jowers and Claywell, who are fourth with a -1.
Due to the weather, round two was not played today. The second and third rounds of stroke play will continue tomorrow. The top four teams following the first three rounds will move into a bracket for the semifinals and finals on Tuesday.
