SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2025 Softball Academic All-District team on May 27.
This year's team features five players from Drury. To be eligible for this honor, players must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and achieve success on the court throughout the season. Student-athletes must also be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Sophia Luetticke was named to the team for the second time in her career. The junior left fielder from Chillicothe led the team in batting average (.370), hits (71), runs (55), OPS (.933), slugging percentage (.500), and stolen bases (49). This season, Luetticke earned first-team all-Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), first-team all-region from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), and second-team all-region from the Division Two Conference Commissions Associations (D2CCA).
AJ Agers, a senior from DeSoto, was named to the team for the second consecutive season. Agers was a first-team all-GLVC selection for the second time. This season, Agers played pitcher, third base, first base, and shortstop. While hitting, she had a .289 average, five homers, and a .797 OPS. Agers led the Panthers in the circle with a 2.69 ERA, 12 wins, and 13 complete games. She also had three saves.
Brooklyn LaChappa was honored for the first time in her career. The senior second baseman from Hemet, California, was second on the team in batting average with .306. She also had 23 RBIs, 44 hits, and a .715 OPS this season.
Drury's center fielder,
Taylor Hartsell, was on the team for the first time. The senior from Livingston, Texas, had 14 extra-base hits, including breaking the Drury career triples record. Hartsell had 20 RBIs and 48 hits this season.
The sophomore right fielder from Carthage,
Landry Cochran, earned the honor for the first time. Cochran started in 53 of the 54 games she played this season. She had nine stolen bases with a .803 slugging percentage. This season she had 14 extra-base hits including four home runs. This season she tied the Drury single-game record for hits and runs scored with four each against Maryville.
The Panthers' season ended in the Saginaw Regional Championship against Saginaw Valley State. Drury had a 35-23 record, including a regular-season GLVC title.
