33 Panthers Earn 2024-25 GLVC Council of Presidents’ Academic Excellence Award

INDIANAPOLIS –The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced its 2024-25 GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award on Thursday, with 33 student-athletes representing Drury across 11 athletic programs. 
 
Of the Panthers' 33 student-athletes honored, three met the highest standard of academic excellence by concluding their collegiate careers with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). 
 
AJ Agers, a DeSoto, Mo. native, received the award after representing the softball program in all 54 games this season. Agers graduated from Drury with a degree in mathematics and minors in computer science and computer engineering, all while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. 
 
Kayli Duncan also earned the award with a perfect 4.0 GPA as well. Duncan represented the volleyball team in 2024, setting season records for total blocks (88), kills (267), and points (316.5). The Wichita, Kan., native studied management and marketing/communications. 
 
Will Kershaw is the third student-athlete to earn the award with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. The Nixa, Mo. native studied secondary education and history alongside representing cross country/track & field. Kershaw holds the third-best time in the 1,500-meter outdoor with a 3:50.57 time.

A record-breaking 613 student-athletes from the league's 13 member institutions were recognized for their academic achievements.

To be a recipient of the GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award, student-athletes must have exhausted their eligibility in the sport they participated in while maintaining at least a 3.5 grade-point average throughout their academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in the GLVC for at least two years and completed 96 credit hours.
