OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Drury men's soccer scored in the last minute of the match to earn a 1-1 draw against Oklahoma Christian.
Drury and Oklahoma Christian kept it close in the first half. The Eagles put the pressure on early in the match, striking two shots in the first five minutes. Drury responded moments later, with
Carson Morgan forcing a save from the Eagles' goalie.
Sergio Aznar got a shot off from a corner kick in the seventh minute. The first half continued to be a back-and-forth battle, with Drury holding a six-to-five edge in shots.
The second half was full of action for both sides. The Eagles opened the second half with three shots before the 50
th minute. A foul in the box gave the Eagles a penalty kick, which they converted in the 58
th minute. Drury pressed for an equalizer in the final 10 minutes.
Lui Bull and
Abdullah Iqbal had chances in the 83
rd minute, forcing another save and a great block from the defense. In the final moments of the game, senior
George Lamb scored the equalizer to tie the game.
