INDIANAPOLIS – Drury men's golf finished the UIndy Fall Invitational on Tuesday. The second day consisted of finishing the second round after a shortened rainy day one and a full third round.
Drury finished in seventh place at one-over par as a team. Notably, the Panthers shot five-under (283) in the third round, marking their best round of the weekend by seven strokes.
Continuing their momentum,
Ellton Bostrom led Drury for the second consecutive tournament. Bostrom finished the third round five strokes under par (67).
Gaige Lewis and
Zach Carter each shot two-over to round out the Drury top-three.
Meanwhile, Grand Valley State led the way, shooting 51-under par as a team. The Lakers took the top two spots on the individual podium with Bryce Wheeler (-15) and Charlie Cooley (-11).
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Drury third round of 283 is tied for the sixth-best round in program history. The last time Drury shot a 283 was Sept. 11, 2018, in The Mule. Earlier this season, Drury shot a 282 as a part of the Arch Cup.
- Ellton Bostrom shot a 67 in the third round. This is the second time this season Bostrom has shot a 67, which is tied for the fourth-best round in program history.
- The 67 from Bostrom put him five under for the tournament. That is tied for the fifth-best under-par performance for an entire tournament.
- Bostrom now has three tournaments under par in his career. This is tied for the fourth most in program history.
- Gaige Lewis shot two-over for the tournament, his best tournament finish of the season.
- As a team, Drury averaged 3.12 strokes on par 3s, third best in the field, and 4.09 strokes on par 4s, fourth best in the field.
- Alex Wiseman averaged 2.92 strokes on par 3s, sixth best.

Drury will travel to Peru, Ind., next week to compete in the Midwest Collegiate hosted by UMSL starting on Sept. 29.
