INDIANAPOLIS — Drury junior swimmers Gwen Bergum and Alvaro Zornoza secured a clean sweep of the Athletic Solutions Great Lakes Valley Conference Athletes of the Week in swimming and diving following standout performances last weekend against NCAA Division I foe Missouri State.

A Skedsmokorset, Norway native, Bergum registered individual wins in the 100 and 200 breast competitions to help the Panthers split their home-and-home duals with cross-town rival Missouri State. She turned in a personal best of 1:01.94 Friday in the 100 breast, in addition to a second-place swim in the 400 IM (4:29.66). Bergum logged another victory in Saturday's matchup, posting a time of 2:16.10 to take the 200 breast, as well as another second-place showing in the 200 IM (2:04.27).

Zornoza, a Gijón, Spain product, logged a pair of individual wins on Saturday, claiming the 200 back (1:44.72) and 200 IM (1:48.95). He also led off DU's winning 400 medley relay performance with a split of 47.05 to help the top-ranked Panthers complete a sweep of the Bears. That effort followed a second-place finish in the 100 back (47.39), as well as a third-place run in the 200 free (1:37.53) on Friday. He also helped Drury's 200 medley relay team to a win.

UP NEXT
Both Drury squads will be back at Breech Pool this weekend when they host Oklahoma Christian for a dual, beginning at 5 p.m., Friday (Jan. 23).
