SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury cross country continued its season at the Brian T. Simpson Invite, hosted by Central Missouri, on Saturday morning, as both the men and women finished fourth.
 
The men finished fourth out of nine teams, totaling 129 points in the 8K race. Tanner Clippard led the Panthers, finishing 25th overall with a time of 27:01.6. Will Wegener followed in 28th at 27:04.3, while Samuel Earnest placed 39th with a time of 27:21.8. Brayden Cunningham finished 41st at 27:25.6, and Bowen Nelson rounded out Drury's scoring five in 45th at 27:34.1. The Panthers edged fifth-place Park University by just one point to secure fourth place.
 
Central Missouri claimed the men's team title with 22 points, placing all five scoring runners inside the top seven. Missouri S&T followed in second with 49 points, while Truman State rounded out the top three with 86 points.
 
The women followed with a fourth-place finish out of 11 teams, scoring 122 points in the 5K race. Katharina Scherb led the Panthers, finishing 12th overall with a time of 19:08.1. Dominika Varga followed in 37th at 20:27.3, setting a season-best mark by 2.7 seconds, while Josephine Rathsam placed 42nd with a time of 20:43.7. Ashley Sexton finished 44th at 20:56.1, and Sophia Goombi completed Drury's scoring five in 49th at 21:18.3, improving her previous season-best time by 23.7 seconds.
 
Truman State took home the women's team title with 26 points, placing all five scoring runners inside the top 10. Central Missouri finished second with 51 points, while Missouri S&T placed third with 115 points.
