Panthers Pick Up First GLVC STUNT Victory, Go 2–2 on the Weekend

ST. LOUIS – Drury STUNT competed in its first GLVC games in program history, including its first GLVC win against No. 17 Ferris State in the Maryville Tournament.
 
GAME ONE – No. 7 Maryville 23, No. 13 Drury 8
Drury STUNT faced Maryville in their first matchup of the weekend, falling 23-8.
 
In the first quarter, Partner Stunts was competitive from the outset. Drury earned points in Rounds 1 and 4, but Maryville responded with scores in Rounds 2 and 3, including a two-point routine in Round 3. Maryville edged the quarter to take an early lead.
 
In the second quarter, Pyramids and Tosses, Maryville, widened the gap. Drury secured a point in Round 1, but forfeits in Rounds 2 and 4 prevented them from capitalizing. Maryville claimed three of four rounds in the quarter to build a strong halftime advantage.
 
Jumps and Tumbling, the third quarter, continued in Maryville's favor. Maryville earned points in all four rounds, while Drury was unable to convert in the quarter. The consistent execution extended the deficit heading into the final frame.
 
In the final quarter, Team Routine saw Maryville maintain control across the majority of heats. Drury found points in select routines, but Maryville's depth and consistency across the team routine groups secured the 23-8 final result.
 
GAME TWO – No. 13 Drury 27, No. 17 Ferris State 16
Drury STUNT secured the program's first GLVC win over Ferris State, 27-16.
 
Partner Stunts gave Drury an early edge, as they claimed three of four rounds. After taking Rounds 1, 2, and 4, and tying Round 3, Drury built a 5-2 advantage heading into the second quarter.
 
In the second quarter, Pyramids and Tosses, Drury continued to control the pace. Despite a forfeit in Round 1, they responded with clean performances in Rounds 3 and 4 to outscore Ferris State in the quarter and extend their halftime lead.
 
Jumps and Tumbling saw Ferris State gain some momentum, earning points in Rounds 1 and 4. Drury answered in Rounds 2 and 3 to maintain control and entered the final quarter with a solid margin.
 
The Team Routine sealed the victory. Drury consistently outperformed Ferris State across the majority of routines, securing key points in each routine group to secure a 27-16 victory.
 
GAME THREE – No. 5 Trevecca Nazarene 28, No. 13 Drury 17
Drury battled Trevecca Nazarene but fell 28-17.
 
Partner Stunts was competitive, with each team exchanging points. Trevecca capitalized on a Drury miss in Round 2 to gain a slight advantage.
 
In quarter two, Pyramids and Tosses, two forfeits by Drury allowed Trevecca to widen the gap. Trevecca secured three of four rounds to take control at halftime.
 
Jumps and Tumbling featured strong execution from both teams. Drury earned points in Rounds 3 and 4, but Trevecca matched early scores to maintain their lead.
 
Team Routine proved decisive. Trevecca secured the majority of routines, while Drury was unable to recover from earlier deficits, resulting in the 28-17 final.
 
GAME FOUR – No. 13 Drury 14, Southwest Baptist 0
Drury completed a shutout victory over Southwest Baptist, 14-0.
 
Partner Stunts saw Drury take both contested rounds to build an early lead.
 
In the second quarter, Pyramids and Tosses, Drury added two more points while Southwest Baptist recorded a forfeit. A technical point further extended the advantage.
 
Jumps and tumbling continued in Drury's favor, with two additional points secured through clean execution.
 
The final quarter, Team Routine closed the meet with Drury winning both contested heats and earning an additional technical point to secure the 14-0 final score.
 
UP NEXT
The Panthers are off until March 21 and 22, when they travel to Quincy to face Lewis, Quincy, and Purdue Northwest for the final weekend of the regular season.
