Drury Opens GLVC Play vs. Missouri S&T in Springfield Before Trip to Lincoln

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury opens the 2026 GLVC season on Saturday in Springfield against Missouri S&T before traveling to Jefferson City to face Lincoln Sunday afternoon.
 
The Panthers are coming off a midweek split against Augustana. Drury was shut out in the second game of the doubleheader after the Vikings' bats started hot. Missouri S&T swept Minnesota Duluth on March 12. The Miners hit four home runs in the two games. Lincoln is coming off a split with NCAA Division I, Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Blue Tigers stunned the Golden Lions with a four-run fourth inning in game one.
 
Fans may follow the action through the GLVC Sports Network (subscription required), where games will be streamed live throughout the regular season. New for the 2025-26 academic year, viewing access to GLVC regular season and postseason broadcasts will be available via monthly subscription ($30) or annual subscription ($140). Single-event access can also be purchased for $15. Select games, including the doubleheader against Missouri S&T, will have free audio coverage on DU All-Access.
 
SERIES HISTORY (Missouri S&T)
  • Drury is 21-20 against Missouri S&T in the series history.
  • Last season, the Miners and Panthers split in Rolla.
  • Brooke Gajewski is 3-2 against S&T in her Drury tenure.
  • This will be the first meeting under Gajewski that the two teams have met in Springfield.
 
SERIES HISTORY (Lincoln)
  • Drury holds a 25-2 record against Lincoln.
  • The Panthers have won 13 straight games. Their last loss was March 2, 2016, in Springfield, 3-1.
  • In Springfield, Drury is 14-1 against the Blue Tigers.
 
WEEKEND STORYLINES
  • This weekend is the opening weekend of GLVC softball play.
  • Last season, the Panthers were co-regular season GLVC champions, tied with Lewis, but earned the top seed after the tiebreaker put Drury ahead of the Flyers.
  • Drury was picked to finish second in the GLVC Coaches' Preseason Poll. Missouri S&T was picked to finish seventh, and Lincoln was picked to finish 12th in the 15-team league.
  • Drury was 12-2 in home GLVC games last season.
  • The Panthers enter the weekend with a 7-10 record, going 2-3 in their last five games.
  • Missouri S&T is 13-9, 3-2 in their last five games. The doubleheader in Springfield is the Miners' only doubleheader this weekend.
  • Lincoln is 8-5 so far this season. The Blue Tigers are 2-3 in their last five games. Lincoln travels to Bolivar on Saturday to face Southwest Baptist.
  • Entering the week, the Panthers' middle infield was one of the top in the country. Reece Anderson and Isabel Ervin anchor the Drury infield that has turned 10 double plays this season, the 17th most in NCAA Division II.
  • Anderson is 11th in the nation in total assists with 60. She is now seventh all-time in program history in total assists with 220 as a sophomore. Anderson is 11 assists away from sixth.
  • Jordyn Foley is 18 strikeouts away from her 100th career strikeout.
  • Landry Cochran was named to the NFCA Top Performers of the Week following her performance at the Washburn Invitational, where she hit .600 with two stolen bases in four games. Since that honor, she has only recorded one hit.
  • Kaley Adzick is fourth in the GLVC in ERA with a 1.75.
  • Missouri S&T also has a strong middle infield, turning 11 double plays at the beginning of this week.
  • The Miners' offense is led by Claire Lopez, who is hitting .441, the sixth-best in the GLVC so far this season.
  • S&T's pitching staff is anchored by former Panther, AJ Agers. Agers threw a no-hitter against Thomas More earlier this season. Against Minnesota Duluth on March 12, she pitched 4.1 innings, allowing one run and striking out five.
  • Lincoln is averaging 1.5 stolen bases per game, the fifth most in the GLVC.
  • Jaedin Blankenship has been the standout pitcher for the Blue Tigers. She is 4-1 with a 2.74 ERA.
  • On the offensive end, Ann-Marie Simpson is hitting .422 and is 7-for-7 this season on the base paths.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
Drury will return to Thompson Field on March 18 for a doubleheader against Emporia State starting at 1 pm.
