SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury returns to Thompson Field at Meador Park on March 18 for a non-conference doubleheader against Emporia State, starting at 1 pm.
The Panthers are coming off the opening weekend of GLVC play, where they went 2-2 with splits against Missouri S&T and Lincoln. Emporia State is 3-1 after the opening weekend of MIAA play, including a sweep of No. 18 Rogers State.
Fans may follow the action through the GLVC Sports Network (subscription required), where games will be streamed live throughout the regular season. New for the 2025-26 academic year, viewing access to GLVC regular season and postseason broadcasts will be available via monthly subscription ($30) or annual subscription ($140). SERIES HISTORY
- Emporia State is 8-5 against Drury all-time.
- The two have played in non-conference doubleheaders dating back to the 2022 season, and the series is split in doubleheaders since 2022, with each team having four wins.
- Drury and Emporia State have met once this season. The Hornets edged the Panthers 11-0 in Topeka on Feb. 22.
- Brooke Gajewski is 2-3 against the Hornets in her Drury tenure.
STORYLINES
- Wednesday's doubleheader is the Panthers' third non-conference doubleheader of the season. Drury is 2-2 in the previous two.
- Drury has yet to sweep or be swept in a doubleheader this season, 4-4.
- The Panthers are 9-12 on the season, 3-3 in their last six games.
- Emporia State is 16-7, 5-1 in their last six games.
- In the Feb. 22 neutral site meeting between Emporia State and Drury, the Hornets were led by Brooke Flewelling, who hit an RBI double. She is hitting .405 on the season with 10 homers. In the circle, it was Hannah Butterbaugh, who struck five Panthers out in five innings. Butterbaugh is 8-2 with a 1.22 ERA this season.
- Drury only had three hits in the first meeting against Emporia. One of the hits came from Haley Bryant, who also reached on a walk. Bryant did not play in any of the Panthers games last week.
- Landry Cochran was named to the NFCA Performers of the Week for the second time this season. Cochran hit .353 in six games last week with three stolen bases and three RBIs. Cochran was a home run shy of the cycle in game one against Lincoln.
- Isabel Ervin is hitting a team high .292 in the batter's box this season.
- Emma Niemczyk had six hits last week, including a career-high two hits against Lincoln.
- Last week, Jordyn Foley went 3-1 in the circle with a 2.10 ERA. Foley had 11 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched. She held a no-hitter into the sixth inning against Missouri S&T.
- Kaley Adzick has the lowest ERA for Drury this season. She has a 1.96 ERA, but has received little offensive support in games she starts. Drury is averaging 2.1 runs per game when Adzick starts.
- Reece Anderson and Gabrielle Bax rank in the top 50 in assists per game. Anderson (3.43) is third in the nation, and Bax (2.48) is 41st.
