No. 15 Drury Finishes GLVC Play with Pair of Top-25 Victories

QUINCY, Ill. – The 15th ranked Drury STUNT team finished their 2026 GLVC slate at Quincy over the weekend. The Panthers won two of three games against top 25 opponents.
 
GAME ONE (Saturday) – No. 15 Drury 23, No. 17 Lewis 18
Drury opened the weekend with a 23-18 win over No. 17 Lewis.
Q1 Partner Stunts gave Drury an early advantage. Lewis recorded a forfeits in Round 1, allowing Drury to take the opening point. Drury followed with a two-point routine in Round 2 and added points in Rounds 3 and 4 to build a lead through the first quarter. In the first round, Drury earned a point on routine seven, the tying the highest difficulty routine in program history.
 
In Q2 Pyramids and Tosses, Lewis found some momentum early by taking Round 1. Drury responded with a two-point routine in Round 2 and added another point in Round 3. Both teams earned a point in Round 4, keeping Drury in front at halftime.
 
Q3 Jumps and Tumbling shifted slightly toward Lewis. Lewis secured points in the first three rounds of the quarter, while Drury answered in Round 4 with a two-point routine. Despite Lewis gaining ground, Drury maintained a narrow lead heading into the final quarter.
 
Q4 Team Routine proved to be the deciding factor. Drury collected points across the early rounds of the team routine, while Lewis picked up points in select routines as well. Forfeits in some of the later rounds limited scoring opportunities, but Drury's early points in the quarter were enough to secure the 23-18 victory.
 
GAME TWO (Saturday) – No. 15 Drury 22, No. 22 Quincy 6
Drury continued day one with a strong performance against No. 22 Quincy, earning a 22-6 victory.
 
Q1 Partner Stunts set the tone early for Drury. Quincy recorded forfeits in Rounds 1 and 3, while Drury completed all four routines successfully to take points in each round. The Panthers built an early lead by consistently hitting their routines while Quincy struggled to convert.
 
In Q2 Pyramids and Tosses, Quincy managed to pick up some points, including a two-point routine in Round 2. Drury responded in Round 4 with a two-point routine of their own and remained steady through the quarter. Despite the exchange of points, Drury maintained control heading into halftime.
 
Q3 Jumps and Tumbling continued to favor Drury overall. The Panthers earned points in three of the four rounds, while Quincy recorded another forfeit in Round 2. Drury's execution across the quarter helped extend the lead entering the final period.
 
Q4 Team Routine secured the result for Drury. Quincy recorded multiple forfeits throughout the team routine rounds, while Drury collected points across several heats to widen the margin. By the end of the quarter, Drury had pulled away to finalize the 22-6 win.
 
GAME THREE (Sunday) – No. 11 Purdue Northwest 21, No. 15 Drury 18
Drury finished their 2026 GLVC slate against No. 11 Purdue Northwest in a close matchup, ultimately falling 21-18.
 
Q1 Partner Stunts started with both teams trading points. Purdue Northwest recorded forfeits in Rounds 1 and 3, but earned a two-point routine in Round 2 to stay even. Drury collected points in Rounds 2 and 4 to keep the quarter competitive and remain within reach early.
 
In Q2 Pyramids and Tosses, Drury gained some momentum. The Panthers secured points in three rounds, including a two-point routine in Round 2. Purdue Northwest answered in Round 4 with a two-point routine of their own, keeping the score close at halftime.
 
Q3 Jumps and Tumbling shifted the momentum toward Purdue Northwest. They earned points in three of the four rounds while Drury managed to score in only one round. That stretch allowed Purdue Northwest to move ahead entering the final quarter.
 
Q4 Team Routine decided the outcome. Both teams collected points across the early rounds, but Purdue Northwest was able to add key scores in the later routines while Drury recorded forfeits in a few rounds. Those points helped Purdue Northwest hold on for the 21-18 victory.

Drury finishes the regular season on March 28 with non-conference games against Central Methodist and Quincy.
