Panthers Begin Eight-Game Homestand Tuesday Against Ouachita Baptist

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury softball returns home to start an eight-game home stand with a doubleheader against Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Panthers are coming off a split against No. 16 McKendree, where Kaley Adzick threw a complete game shutout, 5-0, against one of the top hitting teams in the GLVC. Ouachita Baptist is 1-9 in their last ten games. The lone win came this past weekend against No. 14 Oklahoma Baptist.
 
Fans may follow the action through the GLVC Sports Network (subscription required), where games will be streamed live throughout the regular season. New for the 2025-26 academic year, viewing access to GLVC regular season and postseason broadcasts will be available via monthly subscription ($30) or annual subscription ($140). Single-event access can also be purchased for $15. Select games, including the doubleheader against Ouachita Baptist, will have free audio coverage on DU All-Access.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Drury trails the all-time series against Ouachita 1- 4.
  • The two teams last played in 2019, with Drury winning 2-0 in the lone game.
  • Ouachita has played Drury once at Thompson Field, the 2018 meeting a part of the Drury Invitational. The Tigers won 6-2.
 
STORYLINES
  • Drury enters the doubleheader with a 12-15 record, splitting their last seven doubleheaders.
  • The Panthers are 5-2 in the first game of doubleheaders compared to 2-5 in game two of doubleheaders this season.
  • Drury's most recent win, at No. 16 McKendree, is the Panthers ' highest-ranked KPI win this season. The Bearcats have a KPI of 1.095, jumping Drury from 92nd in NCAA Division II to 86th.
  • Ouachita Baptist currently ranks 186th in KPI. Their win against Oklahoma Baptist (0.743) was the highest-rated win they have had this season. Ouachita only has one other win over 0.500, that being Feb. 27 against Harding, a 0.501-ranked win.
  • Emma Niemczyk had eight hits last week, moving her to the team leader in batting average at .313.
  • Isabel Ervin is also over the .300 mark. She is hitting .302 following five hits last week.
  • Kaley Adzick lowered her ERA to 1.90 after the shutout of McKendree. In the loss that Adzick had to Maryville last week, she struck out a career-high eight batters.
  • One more win for Adzick would move her tied for tenth in program history with Laura McCarthy. Adzick currently has 17 wins in the circle as a Panther.
  • Reece Anderson jumped into the top four all-time in program history in career assists. The sophomore has 247 assists from the shortstop position. She currently ranks fifth in the country in overall assists this season with 87.
  • The middle infield of Anderson and Ervin is one of the top in NCAA Division II. The two have been a part of 14 double plays this season, the 11th most in NCAA Division II.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
The Panthers stay in Springfield for four games this weekend, starting Saturday against Illinois Springfield.
