SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury ends the 2026 regular season against rival Southwest Baptist in Springfield on May 2.

The Panthers are coming off a non-conference doubleheader split against Rogers State on Wednesday. Drury is still looking to clinch their spot in the GLVC Tournament. The Panthers can not clinch their spot on their own; they need help from other teams in the league. Southwest Baptist has lost six of its last seven games. In the month of April, the Bearcats were 5-9.

Fans may follow the action through the GLVC Sports Network (subscription required), where games will be streamed live throughout the regular season. New for the 2025-26 academic year, viewing access to GLVC regular-season and postseason broadcasts will be available via a monthly ($30) or annual ($140) subscription. Single-event access can also be purchased for $15. Select games, including the Southwest Baptist doubleheader, will have free audio coverage on DU All-Access.

SERIES HISTORY VS SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
  • Drury is 30-13 against SBU all-time.
  • Under Brooke Gajewski, Drury is 3-1 against the Bearcats.
  • In the last meeting between SBU and Drury, the Panthers swept the Bearcats to clinch the top seed and the 2025 GLVC Regular Season title.

STORYLINES
  • Drury enters the final weekend needing a combination of three results - Panther wins or Lewis losses - to secure the final spot in the GLVC Tournament. With two conference games remaining, the Panthers can clinch a berth by winning both contests and getting one Lewis loss, or by splitting their games combined with two Lewis losses. If Drury is unable to win either game, the Panthers would still need three Lewis losses to remain in the top eight. Lewis closes the regular season against Indianapolis and Illinois Springfield, leaving multiple paths for Drury to lock up a postseason spot, depending on the results across the league.
  • Entering the final weekend of the regular season, Kelsey Palmer is the only Panther with a hitting or on-base streak over five games. Palmer has recorded a hit in the last six games.
  • Reece Anderson is 11 assists away from tying the Drury single-season record of 160. She currently has 149. Anderson set the record in her freshman season.
  • Gabrielle Bax moved into fifth single-season assists on Wednesday with 131. She is also seventh in career assists with 218.
  • Jordyn Foley has posted 12 wins this season. It is the ninth most in a single season at Drury. She also has 22 career Drury wins, sixth most in program history.
  • Emma Niemczyk has the fifth-most hits by a freshman in program history with 44. She is one away from tying for fourth and four from tying third most.
  • Kaley Adzick is third in the GLVC in ERA with a 2.04.
  • Adzick is nine strikeouts away from 100 strikeouts this season. She would be the first pitcher since Kristina Bettis in 2023 to strike out 100 in a season and only the 11th pitcher in program history to reach 100 in a season.
  • Southwest Baptist has dropped six of its last seven games. The Bearcats are 19-31 and 8-16 in the GLVC. In the month of April, SBU was 5-9, including a sweep of Upper Iowa.
  • Keeley Elsea is one of the top hitters in the GLVC and in SBU history. Elsea is hitting .477 this season with a .742 slugging percentage and .608 on-base percentage. With the Bearcats eliminated from postseason contention, Elsea has four games for the rest of the season and is on pace to break the SBU single-season record in batting average (.432), slugging percentage (.742), and on-base percentage (.481). Elsea has already set the single-season walk record with 46 and is two walks away from breaking the career walk record in just her second season.
  • In the SBU circle, there has been very little success. The Bearcats have had three pitchers appear in at least 15 games this season, and all have an ERA over 4.30. Abby Leer has the lowest ERA with a 4.39; opponents are hitting .305 against Leer. Shalie Wooden is another starter for SBU. Wooden has a 9-10 record with a 4.91 ERA.

LOOKING AHEAD
Drury will wait for the GLVC to release the tournament bracket to find out the Panthers' pairing in East Peoria, starting May 6.
