Cyrus Hall enters his first year as assistant cross country and track & field coach at Drury University and his 17th year as a collegiate coach in 2022-23. Hall will be primarily responsible for sprints, hurdles, jumps and combined events. He is also tasked with recruiting efforts in those event disciplines.

Hall comes to Drury after eight successful years at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho where he helped build a top 25 program as the head assistant cross country and track & field Coach. Hall was primarily responsible for all aspects of the track and field program, and he coached sprints, hurdles, jumps and combined events. He also assisted with the throwers and was responsible for the strength and conditioning, academics, and fundraising for the program.

From 2014-2022, the Warriors broke 45 school records, and Hall coached 99 national qualifiers, 24 All-Americans, including National Champions Tyler Blakeley (men’s high jump) and Leon Menten (men’s javelin). During Hall’s time at LC State, the Warriors track and field teams were honored with academic team awards and 23 of Hall’s former athletes were named NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Prior to coaching at LC State, Hall spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Emporia State where served as a graduate assistant for track & field and cross country.

While at ESU, Hall mentored 11 NCAA Division II national qualifiers and eight NCAA Division II All-Americans. Among those were Payson Maydew, who finished third in the nation in the men’s decathlon in 2014, and Carmen King, who placed third in the women’s long jump in 2014.

Hall also made a stop at Pratt CC as the head coach for men’s and women’s cross country and track and field from 2007-2012. Hall got his start at his alma mater Sterling College as a volunteer assistant from 2006-2007.

As a student-athlete, Hall ran both cross country as well as track and field at Neosho County Community College and at Sterling College. Hall holds an Associate of Art from Neosho County Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Sterling College, and a Master’s degree in Health, Education, and Recreation from Emporia State. Coach Hall is also USATF Level 1 certified, USTFCCCA Technical Event Certified, and USTFCCCA Strength & Conditioning Certified.

Hall is a native of Eudora, Kan. He is an avid college football and basketball fan. His hobbies include camping, fishing, hiking, biking, and playing golf.
