Attended Lafayette High School...a four-time All-Suburban Yellow Conference goalkeeper, including earning the league's Goalkeeper of the Year honor in 2023...her senior season saw her record seven shutouts, 96 saves, and a 0.92 GAA...earned all-district honors her senior season...in her junior season, Newell recorded nine shutouts as she helped lead the Lancers to their second district title in three years...over her four seasons as the starting keeper, Newell had 40 shutouts, 52 wins, and 395 saves.

Parents are Amy and Greg Newell...cousin, Connor Sparrow, played soccer at Creighton before getting drafted to the MLS in 2016...born on March 3, 2008...majoring in Psychology...played club for ECNL St. Louis Scorr Gallagher.
