The Drury volleyball Panthers earned a split in their Saturday pair sweeping Southern Arkansas 3-0 in the nightcap and falling 3-1 in their opener vs. Quincy in a GLVC match at Weiser Gym.
Drury goes to (9-8, 3-8 GLVC) and Quincy improved to 4-14 overall and 2-9 in the GLVC. Quincy claimed the match win by scores of 19-25, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21 and 15-12. In the nightcap DU downed Southern Arkansas by match scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-15 for the dominating sweep.
Drury posted their second highest hitting percentage of the season (.343) with 45 kills, 11 errors on 99 attacks. The Panthers had four players hit over .400 in the match led by
Mina House who hit .500 with nine kills and just two errors on 14 attacks,
Sara Borneman who had 10 kills and hit .429,
Laynie Timmons who had eight kills and one error in 17 attacks for a .412 hitting percentage and
Brooke Antenen had 38 assists and hit .429 with seven digs, two block assists and two block solos. Â
Bridget Justis had a team high 11 digs and
BJ Specht led all Panthers will 11 kills.
In the Panthers match vs. Quincy Antenen led DU with 11 kills and hit .320 and recorded 43 assists. Specht and
Chloe Foster each chipped in 10 kills and Justis had a season high 27 digs. Carly Schmitt led Quincy with 15 kills.
Drury will be at the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover on October 17-18 in Aurora, Illinois.
