LEBANON, Ill. –
Shelby Hatz scored three second half goals for a hat trick with her first two goals coming a minute apart (63:40) and (64:40) and her final goal (73:44) to give the Drury women's soccer team a 4-2 GLVC road victory over Mckendree here on Sunday.
Drury is now 6-3-3 overall and 4-3-3 in the GLVC and McKendree falls to 5-8 overall and 4-6 in the GLVC.
A header by Lauren Mantei of McKendree on a double assist from Alyssa Patterson and Liz Kaiser just 7:17 into the contest put the Bearcats on top early. Six minutes later the Panthers answered when
Ciara O'Brien scored (12:50) to tie it up 1-1 off an
Emily Cline assist.
The Bearcats scored their second goal of the contest at (31:41) on a Mary Geiger goal coming off Patterson's second assist of the game to go back on top 2-1.
Hatz then tied it up at 63:40 on Cline's second assist and put the game winner in the net a minute later at 64:40 assisted by
Sarah Duffy for the Panthers. Hatz capped off her terrific offensive day with the hat trick goal coming at 73:44 off Cline's third assist of the game. Cline leads the Panthers with five assists this season.
Each team posted 13 shots with McKendree holding a 10-9 edge on shots of goal. McKendree took two corners and the Panthers took one.
Tina Haberberger posted eight saves in goal for the Panthers and Taylor Zerbe had five saves for the Bearcats.
