The Drury women's soccer team scored three first half goals, two of those coming from
Shelby Hatz (4:53) and (26:02) to earn a 4-0 GLVC shutout victory over Southern Indiana at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex on Friday.
Drury is now 7-3-3 overall and 5-3-3 in the GLVC and Southern Indiana falls to 3-8-2 overall and 2-7-2 GLVC.
Hatz, who has now scored five goals in the last two games, netted her fourth of the season, just inside the first five minutes of action (4:53) assisted by
Rachel Krueger off a rebound shot to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
Mariah Gove scored her third goal of the season at the 22:47 mark just three yards out to make it a 2-0 Panther lead. The Panther offense continued to prove too much to handle in the opening half as Hatz netted her second goal of the contest at the 26:02 mark off a
Sarah Duffy assist.
Emma Huggett added a goal (65:15) when the keeper came out to defend and was assisted by
Emily Cline.
The Panthers outshot the Screaming Eagles 14-2 in the opening half and 21-7 for the game.
The DU women's soccer team will host Illinois-Springfield on Sunday with start time set for noon.
