Mariah Gove scored twice to lead a three-goal effort for Drury in the second half as the Panthers posted a 4-1 win over Illinois Springfield in Great Lakes Valley Conference play Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex.

Drury is now 8-3-3 overall and 6-3-3 in the GLVC and Illinois-Springfield drops to 2-10-2 overall and 0-10-2 in the GLVC.

Shelby Hatz scored her sixth goal (8:40) of the season and her sixth goal in the last three games, assisted by Emily Cline, to make it an early 1-0 Drury lead.  Kaylan Mills scored at the 37:44 mark assisted by Regina Bolin to tie it up just before the half.

But Drury took advantage of a pair of UIS mistakes with Mariah Gove scoring on a penalty kick (60:50) and Ciara O'Brien netting one on a free kick (62:52) to extend their lead to 3-1.  Gove scored her second goal of the game and her fifth goal of the season at the 78:51 mark for the 4-1 final.

Taylor Pemberton earned the win in goal for the Panthers.  Paige Polonus posted four saves for the Prairie Stars.  Drury dominated UIS offensively with a 18-5 shot advantage and took seven corners while UIS had none.  Cline took seven shots and Gove had four shots.

Up next for the Drury women's soccer team will be a GLVC road contest at Rockhurst set for Friday, October 24th at 5 p.m. in Kansas City.
