KANSAS CITY – Taylor Skala netted a pair of goals (34:44) and (59:24) to help Rockhurst to a 3-0 GLVC victory over the Drury women's soccer team at Bourke Field on Friday.
Drury is now 8-4-3 overall and 6-4-3 in the GLVC and Rockhurst improved to 12-2-2 overall and 9-2-2 in GLVC action.
Skala scored her GLVC leading 12
th goal of the season coming off a header at the 34:44 mark from a Maria Merlo assist for give Rockhurst a 1-0 edge at the half. Skala scored again for her 13
th goal of the season at the 59:24 mark off a double assist by Julia Bartolacci and Kristin Wolff for the Hawks. Merlo scored the Hawks final goal at the 88:54 mark to make it a 3-0 final.
Rockhurst dominated the game offensively with a 22-4 shot advantage with 12 of those on goal. The Hawks held a 3-0 lead on Corners.
The Drury women's soccer team will return to action on Sunday when they host William Jewell at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex at noon.
