A Drury women's soccer team that has scored four goals in each of its last three games - all wins - will look to keep that production going when the Panthers visit Rockhurst on Friday and come back home to face William Jewell on Sunday's "Senior Day" in Great Lakes Valley Conference weekend play.
Coach
Alf Bilbao's Panthers have moved to 8-3-3 overall and 6-3-3 in the GLVC with their three-game winning streak to move into fifth place in the league standings with three regular season matches left - Friday's 5 p.m. start vs. Rockhurst (11-2-2, 8-2-2) in Kansas City, Sunday's noon matchup vs. William Jewell (6-5-3, 5-5-2) at Harrison/Curry and the regular season finale next Wednesday, also at home, vs. Missouri S&T (7-7, 7-5). The top eight teams at the end of the regular season move on to the GLVC Championship post-season tourney, which begins on campus sites on Sunday, November 2.
Rockhurst had an eight-match unbeaten streak (six wins, two ties) snapped with a 2-1 loss at home to Bellarmine on Sunday. The Hawks are just 2-2-2 at home this season after posting an 8-0-0 mark away from KC.
Rockhurst has outscored its opponents 27-8 on the year, including 17-2 in the opening half. Taylor Skala has a GLVC-best 11 goals and two assists for a league-leading 24 points, while Brandi Van Booven is next with four goals for the Hawks, who have received nine shutouts from keeper Caitlin Winschel.
Drury has outscored its foes 25-11, led by six goals from reigning GLVC Player of the Week
Shelby Hatz - all six coming in her last three matches.
Mariah Gove has added five goals and
Emily Cline has three goals and a team-high five assists. The Panthers, who scored 13 goals over their first 11 matches and have 12 goals over their last three, are 6-0-2 at Harrison/Curry and 2-3-1 on the road.
Drury leads the all-time series with Rockhurst 8-4-2 and holds a 4-2-1 edge over William Jewell. The Panthers lost 1-0 at Jewell and tied Rockhurst 1-1 in Springfield last season.
