A goal by Drury freshman
Rachel Krueger at the 11:20 mark, assisted by
Sarah Duffy, gave the Drury women's soccer team a 1-0 GLVC victory over Missouri-St. Louis at Harrison Stadium/The Curry Sports Complex on Sunday.
Drury is now 5-2-3 overall and 3-2-3 in the GLVC and UMSL is now 5-5 overall and 3-5 in the GLVC.
Each team tallied four first half shots, with UMSL having a two shot edge (14-12) for the game and both teams having six shots on goal.
Emily Cline had five shots for Drury with two of those on goal and Sidney Allen had three shots for the Tritons. Drury posted a 7-5 advantage on corners in the contest.
"It wasn't pretty in the second half, but we fought for each other and our bench gave us an added lift today," Drury coach
Alf Bilbao said. "It was a good team win."
Tina Haberberger posted six saves for the Panthers and Megan Ohm had five for the Tritons.
The DU women's soccer team will hit the road next week and take on Bellarmine in Louisville, Kentucky in a GLVC match set for 3:55 p.m. Central Standard Time, next Friday, October 10th.
