No. 7 Lady Panthers Roll To 93-52 Win Over Northeastern State In Doubletree/Houlihan's Thanksgiving Classic

The nationally seventh-ranked Drury Lady Panthers got 63 points off their bench in rolling to a 93-52 victory over Northeastern State in the Doubletree Hotel/Houlihan's Thanksgiving Classic Saturday evening at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.

Hannah Dressler led the way with 13 points in 17 minutes off the bench as 12 Lady Panthers found the scoring column and no DU player garnered more than 18 minutes.

Ironically, the lone Lady Panther who played but didn't score was the team's seasonal scoring leader, Annie Armstrong, who played just 18 minutes and took only two shots as Drury was able to rest its junior point guard after racing off to a 48-21 halftime advantage over the RiverHawks (2-3).

"I think we needed that," Miller said, after a run of stressful games that included a 78-73 loss to nationally 10th-ranked Pittsburg State on Friday. "I don't think the girls took kindly to getting beat on our home floor, so from the get-go, they came out and fought. We were able to get a lot of kids a lot of minutes, so that was good."

Ana-Carlota Faussurier added 12 points and five rebounds - both career highs - in 17 minutes and Heather Harman added 11 points (on 4-of-4 shooting) in 15 minutes for a Drury team that shot 51 percent from the field (29 of 57) as the bench outscored the starting five 63-30.

Sanayika Shields had nine points and eight rebounds in 15 minutes and Shelby White added seven points and seven rebounds in 17 minutes as both were named to the all-tournament team for their two-day efforts. Drury outrebounded the RiverHawks 40-30.

The Lady Panthers are idle until opening Great Lakes Valley Conference play at Missouri S&T in Rolla on Thursday night in a 7 p.m. tipoff.

Rockhurst capped the tournament with a 72-62 victory over previously unbeaten Pittsburg State late Saturday. The Hawks' Lauren Meyers was named MVP and joined on the all-tourney team by teammate Laura Wilson and Lizzy Jeronimus of Pitt State.
