Drury scored twice in the final 10 minutes - on goals by
Ciara O'Brien and
Mariah Gove - to stun Quincy 2-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer action Friday night at Harrison Stadium in the Curry Sports Complex.
Coach
Alf Bilbao's Panthers moved to 6-2-3 and 5-2-2 in the GLVC with the victory, which pushed DU's consecutive home matches without a loss to 20 - dating back to a 1-0 loss to Quincy in October, 2013.
It also marked DU career coaching victory No. 99 for Bilbao, who will go for No. 100 on Sunday against Truman State - his alma mater - in a noon kickoff at Harrison/Curry.
All of the above looked bleak for the Panthers up into the 80-minute mark. After a scoreless first half, Quincy got on the board on a penalty kick goal from Ashley Burton, who tallied her 10th goal of the season after a hand-ball call on DU for a 1-0 lead at the 49:06 mark.
It stayed that way until O'Brien scored off a free kick at 80:15 - her third goal of the season - and Gove, the redshirt junior, followed with her first goal of the season when she cleaned up a rebound from close range off the QU keeper at 83:03 (Bertiz Uxoa Ayuso assist).
Quincy, which lost for just the third time in 16 matches in the all-time series with DU, outshot the Panthers 13-8, but held just a 5-4 edge in shots on goal.
Tina Haberberger had four saves in picking up the victory in goal for the Panthers.
