SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury and Southern Indiana both scored goals late in regulation as they battled to a 1-1 tie on Friday night at the Lake Country Soccer Complex.
The Panthers remain a half-game behind the Screaming Eagles in the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings with their record at 9-2-2 and 7-2-2 in the GLVC while Southern Indiana went to 10-2-1 and 8-2-1.
Drury was less than seven minutes away from a win. Ben Bruce scored his seventh goal of the season for the Panthers in the 68th minute giving Drury a 1-0 lead. Southern Indiana forged the tie on Sean Rickey's sixth goal of the season with 6:07 left in regulation.
The Panthers had a 20-9 advantage in shots but only had four on goal to two from Southern Indiana.
Drury is home again on Sunday when they host Bellarmine for a 2:30 p.m. game at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
