Panthers battle Bellarmine to 1-1 tie

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury endured their fourth straight double-overtime game and came away with a 1-1 tie against Bellarmine on Sunday at Harrison Stadium.

The Panthers went to 9-2-3 and 7-2-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while Bellarmine's record moved to 5-7-3 and 4-6-2 in the league.

The Knights got on the board 17 minutes into the game on Luke Mocherman's fourth goal of the season.

Drury answered nine minutes later when Ivan Borka scored his first goal of the year tying the game at 1-1.

Borka's goal was the only shot the Panthers would get on net for the rest of regulation and in the two overtimes. Drury goalkeeper Nic Helin made six saves helping the Panthers to a 1-1 draw.

The game marked the second straight tie for Drury. They are 1-0-3 in their last four games, each of which have gone into double-overtime.

Next up for the Panthers is a trip to Rockhurst, currently the number one ranked team in NCAA-II. Drury faces the Hawks on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri.
