DU Women's Swimming Team Opens Action at Alaska-Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Drury women's swimming team opened action Friday at Alaska-Fairbanks winning eight of the 10 events for a 742-661 victory at the Patty Center Pool.
 
Wen Xu won both the 50 Free (22:55) and the 100 Free (51:20) and freshman Erica Dahlgren took top honors in both the 1000 Free (10:16.46) and the 500 Free (5:02.87).

Other top finishes were by freshman with Chrysoula Karamanou from Limassol, Cypress winning the 200 Free (1:56.29), Vera Johansson who won the 100 Fly (58.56) and Katya Rudenko won took first in the 100 Back (55.26).


Second place finishes were turned in by freshman Caytee Wright from Cabot, Arkansas who finished second in the 50 Free (24.76) and Megan Ouhl in the 1000 Free (10:30.17).

Fairbanks claimed wins in both relay events the 400 Medley and the 200 Free Relay and won the 100 Breast.
 
Drury will continue action at Fairbanks on Saturday.
