SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Drury women's soccer team earned a 2-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference victory at Illinois-Springfield on Friday evening.
Uxoa Bertiz Ayuso netted an early goal and her second of the season at the 16 minute mark to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead heading into the half.
Springfield Glendale grad McKenzie Robbins sealed the game when she scored goal with just nine minutes left in regulation.
Illinois-Springfield had an 11-9 advantage in shots but the Panthers kept the Prairie Stars off the scoreboard helped by the seven saves by goalkeeper Tina Haberberger and made the most of their chances with four shots on goal.
Drury will continue GLVC road play in Illinois on Sunday when they travel to Lebanon to face the McKendree Bearcats at noon.
