QUINCY, Ill. -.The Drury Softball Panthers earned a GLVC split at Quincy winning the opener 3-0 before falling 6-3 in the nightcap here on Friday.
Drury is now 9-19, 3-7 GLVC and Quincy is 10-12 overall and 5-5 in the GLVC.
In the opener
Kari Hillenburg doubled in the Panther fifth to plate
Alyssa Sargent and get the Panthers on the board.
Grace Hargadon followed up with a two run homer to score
Shelby Weissenbach in the Drury sixth for a 3-0 Drury final.
Hargadon and Sargent each had two hits to lead DU who outhit Quincy 8-4 in the contest.
Weissenbach (6-10) earned the win for the Panthers with
Jessica Kjeldgaard earning her second save of the year in two innings of action.
Tiffany Harbison (3-2) received the loss for the Hawks and recorded eight strikeouts.
In the nightcap Drury scored first once again in the second inning when
Rachael Michaelis singled to bring home
Miki Andrus. The Hawks tied it up in the bottom of the third on a two run homer by Jackie Farbak.
Quincy padded their lead to 6-1 by scoring four runs on four hits and an error in the bottom of the fourth. An RBI single by Oelrich scored
Karlie Peck in the sixth to make it 6-2. Hillenburg scored on an error in the seventh to cut the lead to 6-3 and Drury had the bases loaded with two outs but could draw no closer.
Quincy outhit the Panthers by a 10-9 tally and were led by Farbak who had four RBIs on two hits and scored twice. Drury was led by Hargadon and Peck who each finished with two hits.
Kjeldgaard (2-9) received the loss with Kristen Skala (4-4) getting the win for Quincy.
Up next for the Drury softball Panthers will be a GLVC road pair at Truman State tomorrow at noon.
