KIRKSVILLE - Truman State swept a GLVC pair takes games by scores of 2-0 and 5-0 over the Drury Softball Panthers here on Saturday.
Drury is now 9-21, 3-9 GLVC and Truman State is 19-7 overall and 11-1 in the GLVC.
In the opener Truman State scored a run on an RBI groundout in the opening inning and later added a run on a Panther fielding error in the second to hold the Panthers scoreless.
Drury outhit Truman State 7-4 with
Grace Hargadon having two hits and Lexi Van Nostrand having two hits for the Bulldogs.
Kelsea Dorsey (11-2) earned the win for the Bulldogs and
Shelby Weissenbach (6-11) received the loss for Drury.
In the nightcap Truman State jumped out to an early first inning 3-0 lead scoring three runs on six hits. The Bulldogs added a run on an RBI single in the fourth. Cate Simon homered in the fifth to make it a 5-0 final.
Truman State posted 10 hits and Lauren Dale (3-0) earned the win and allowed just one Panther hit coming in the second by Hargadon.
Jessica Kjeldgaard (2-10) received the loss.
Up next for the Drury softball Panthers will be a GLVC home series vs. Missouri S&T on Tuesday at Thompson Field starting at 4 p.m.
