DU Softball Earns GLVC Split vs. Missouri S&T

The Drury softball Panthers earned a GLVC split winning the opener 3-0 before falling 5-1 in the nightcap at Thompson Field on Tuesday.

Drury is now 10-22, 4-10 GLVC and Missouri S&T is 11-22 overall and 3-11 in the GLVC.

In the third inning a two RBI double by Grace Hargadon and an RBI single by Shelby Weissenbach gave the Panthers a 2-0 lead.

Weissenbach (7-11) allowed just two hits and posted six strikeouts to earn the win.  Kati Viets (5-11) received the loss for the Miners. 

Drury finished with six hits and Andi Davis had both hits for the Miners. 

In the nightcap Kyra Slemp had a homer to right in the top of the second to give the Miners their first run of the day.  Hargadon scored on an error at shortstop to tie it up in the second inning.  The Miners scored four runs on three hits and an error including a homer to take a 5-1 lead in the third for the win.

S&T finished with eight hits led by Andi Davis and Hannah Franceschini with two hits each.  Drury had three hits.

 Jessica Kjeldgaard (2-11) suffered the loss with Ashley Hill (3-1) earning the win for Missouri S&T.

The Drury softball Panthers will host William Jewell on Saturday at noon in a GLVC home series at Thompson Field.
