The Drury baseball Panthers used a 12 hits effort to earn a 6-5 non-conference victory over Rogers State on Tuesday at Meador Park.
Drury improved to 14-28 and Rogers State falls to 23-20.
Conner Wilson singled to left to plate
Ryan Colombo in the first to give the Panthers an early 1-0 lead. The Hillcats tied it up in the third on a homer to left by Jordan Garr.
Ryan Kayhill put the Panthers back on top in the fourth on an RBI sacrifice fly to score
John Goodrich.
After an hour lightning delay Wilson sacrificed home
Ryan Wadkins in the fifth to make it 3-1 Drury. In the sixth
Justin Abernathy recorded an RBI groundout to score
Marcus Enloe for a 4-1 lead.
The Hillcats pulled to within a run 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning when Ismael Orozco singled to score two. Colombo went yard in the seventh and Goodrich hit a solo shot in the eighth to push the Panther lead to 6-3.
Orozco hit a two run homer in the top of the ninth to cut the lead to 6-5 but could draw no closer.
Drury finished with 12 hits with Colombo and Goodrich each having two hits, two runs and an RBI. Abernathy had two hits and an RBI. Rogers State had 11 hits with Colton Crocker having three.
Josh Eclavea (4-1) got the loss with
Langdon Simkins (1-1) earning the win for Drury and
Sterling Sharp getting the save.
The Drury baseball Panthers will jump back into GLVC road play on Saturday when they will go to Maryville and play at Parkway South High School starting the four games series on Saturday at noon.
