KANSAS CITY - The Drury softball Panthers were swept in a GLVC pair at Rockhurst 3-1 and 6-1 here on Sunday.
Drury is now 10-25, 5-13 GLVC and Rockhurst improved to 14-22 overall and 7-11 GLVC.
Rockhurst used an RBI fielders choice in the second and added runs in the third and fourth with a pair of RBI singles for a 3-1 win in the opener. Â
Miki Andrus hit a homer in the Panther fifth to get DU on the board.
Drury had five hits with
Abbey LeJong leading DU with five. The Hawks nine hits in the contest.
Shelby Weissenbach (8-12) received the loss and Shannon Green (6-11) earned the win for Rockhurst.
In the nightcap Rockhurst scored six runs on 10 hits for a 6-1 win. Sargent had two hits for Drury who finished with five.
Rockhurst took a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI double before a throwing error by the Hawks allowed
Alyssa Sargent to score and tie it up in the Panther third. Rockhurst took the lead back with a run on an RBI double in the fourth and sealed the win with two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings.
Bridgette Sappington (8-11) earned the win for the Hawks and
Jessica Kjeldgaard (2-13) received the loss.
The Drury softball Panthers host Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday at noon at Thompson Field.
