UMSL scored 8 runs in the 9
th inning for a 9-1 win in the opener and then shutout DU 2-0 to claim a GLVC sweep over the Drury softball Panthers at Thompson Field on Saturday.
Drury is now 11-27 overall and 5-15 in the GLVC and UMSL improved to 39-4 overall and 17-3 in the GLVC.
UMSL got on the board first when they posted an RBI single in the first. Drury tied it up in the bottom of the second on an RBI double by

Shelby Weissenbach. UMSL scored eight runs on nine hits and an error in the ninth inning to claim a 9-1 victory over Drury.
UMSL out hit Drury 16-2 in the contest with Panther hits from Sargent and Weissenbach.
Shelby Weissenbach (8-13) received the loss for Drury in the opener and Hannah Perryman (34-2) earned both wins for UMSL with 19 and 12 K's in each game.Â
Jessica Kjeldgaard (2-14) received the loss for Drury in the nightcap.
In the nightcap UMSL scored runs in the second and third innings for the 2-0 win coming off and RBI single and a homer.
Chantal Oelrich had two of the Panthers five hits and the Tritons finished with nine hits.
Drury will continue GLVC home action vs. Maryville on Sunday at Thompson Field with action starting at noon.
