MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Drury started the 2016 season with a win picking up a 1-0 victory at Christian Brothers University on Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee.
After a scoreless first half, the Panthers got the game's only goal in the 74th minute from junior Kerri Morris. The O'Fallon, Missouri native had nine goals last season and found the net on an assist from Springfield-Glendale product and sophomore McKenzie Robbins.
Panthers goalkeeper Tina Haberberger had four saves in the shutout win. Drury was outshot 12-10 but only four Buccaneers attempts were on goal while the Panthers put seven on net.
Drury begins the season 1-0 while Christian Brothers drops to 0-1.
The Panthers play their second game and their home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 6 when they host Southwest Baptist at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex for a 7:30 p.m. game.
