SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury came from a goal down at halftime to salvage a 1-1 tie in double-overtime against St. Joseph's on Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
Drury's record went to 2-1-1 and 0-1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Pumas went to 0-1-1 and 0-0-1 in the league.
St. Joseph's scored in the 41st minute on Drury's own goal when a header back to goalkeeper Tina Haberberger went wide of her and into the net.
The Panthers tied the game in the 56th minute on a Gabbe Millot's blast set up on a corner kick. The goal was the first of the season by the sophomore from Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
Drury had 13 shots on goal to the Puma's 3 and out-shot St. Joseph's 23-9. Melissa Kuhar managed 12 saves including two in the second overtime to earn the tie.
The Panthers play again Friday when they travel to Lewis. Game time is 7:30 p.m. in Romeoville, Illinois.
