SOMERS, Wisc. – Drury stayed unbeaten and prevailed in a game that featured a flurry of goals in the second half for a 3-2 win at Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday in Somers, Wisconsin.
The Panthers, ranked 22nd in NCAA-II, improved to 6-0 and 4-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference while the Rangers dropped to 2-3-1 and 0-3-1.
Leading 1-0 at halftime on the fourth goal of the season by Ben Bruce, the two teams combined for four goals in a six-minute span.
The Rangers tied the game in the 76th minute on a penalty kick by Antonio Gonzalez and then took the lead 57 seconds later on Abraham Kennah's goal. The 2-1 Rangers lead marked the first time this season Drury has trailed in a game.
Wisconsin-Parkside was only ahead for one minute and 18 seconds as the Panthers evened the score on Antoine Vial's fourth goal of the season. Drury then took the lead four minutes later in the 82 minute on a score by David Cross.
Vial had a goal and an assist for the Panthers.
Both teams had 10 shots and six shots on goal.
Drury's next game is Friday, Sept. 23 at Truman State, Game time is 3:30 p.m. in Kirksville, Missouri.
