KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – After allowing an early goal, Drury battled back but could not pull even in a 2-1 loss to 13th ranked Truman State in Kirksville, Missouri on Friday.
The Bulldogs scored less than two minutes into the contest and took a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute.
Drury stayed within striking distance in the second half and pulled within a goal of the lead in the 82nd minute when Uxoa Bertiz scored on a free kick into the upper right corner of the net.
Truman State outshot the Panthers 14-4 and had a 6-2 advantage on shots on goal.
The loss extended Drury's winless streak to five games and their record to 2-4-1 with their mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference to 0-4-1. Truman State stayed unbeaten going to 6-0-1 overall and 5-0-0 in the GLVC.
Drury continues their road trip on Sunday with a trip to Quincy. The Panthers take on the Hawks at noon, Sunday afternoon in Quincy, Illinois.
