QUINCY, Ill. – Drury snapped a five game winless streak and won their first game of the season in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 1-0 win at Quincy on Sunday afternoon.
The game's only goal came in the 74th minute as Rachel Krueger scored her first of the season on a deflection from a free kick. Gabbe Millot had the assist.
Quincy had a 19-11 advantage in shots but the Panthers kept the Lady Hawks off the scoreboard helped by the eight saves by goalkeeper Tina Haberberger.
The win was Drury's first since their 2-1 win over Southwest Baptist on Sept. 6. The Panthers had a tie in conference play against Saint Joseph's on Sept. 11.
After four straight road games, Drury is back at home on Friday. The Panthers host Maryville at 5 p.m. in Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
