AURORA, Ill. – The Drury volleyball Panthers fell 3-1 to Lake Erie to close out the Midwest Region Crossover Tournament on Saturday. Drury went 2-1 for the tournament, sweeping Tiffin and Michigan Tech 3-0 on Friday at the Great Lakes Center.
Drury jumped out to a 25-21 win in the opening set hitting .304, before falling in the next three sets by scores of 25-22, 25-18, and 26-24. Drury moves to 16-6 on the season and Lake Erie improved to 15-7.
The Panthers were led by
Sarah Kite who had 16 kills and
Paige Perry who finished with 12 kills. Perry also recorded a team-high 29 digs.
Kendra Sater was the Drury assist leader with 45.
Lake Erie was led by Bethany Fisher who had 14 kills. Lake Erie recorded 14 blocks for the match and Drury tallied nine.
Next up for the Drury volleyball Panthers will be a non-conference match vs. Southwest Baptist on Tuesday. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
