SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Drury battled 19
th ranked McKendree to a 1-1 tie in double-overtime in their Senior Day game on Sunday afternoon at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex in Springfield.
The Panthers moved their record to 6-6-2 and 4-6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. McKendree ended the day at 10-1-3 and 7-1-3 in the league.
Drury took a 1-0 lead on a goal by
Ellie Johnson. The freshman from Overland Park, Kansas blasted a shot into the left side of the net past McKendree goalkeeper Zoe Brochu, who entered Sunday's game with a 0.22 goals against average.
The Bearcats tied the game on a goal by Kate Bixby in the 52
nd minute and the game stayed deadlocked through the rest of regulation and both overtimes.
Drury had five shots on goal to McKendree's four but the Bearcats led in total shots 17-9.
The Panthers go on the road for their next game. Drury is at Southern Indiana on Friday for 5 p.m. game in Evansville, Ind.
