SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Wisconsin-Parkside rallied from seven-point deficits in two different sets on their way to a 3-0 win over Drury on Saturday at the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
The Rangers improved to 12-13 and 7-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Panthers dropped to 17-10 and 6-8 in the GLVC.
Drury started the match with an 8-1 lead and had an 18-11 lead in the first set before Parkside fought back to win the set 26-24. After the Rangers won the second set 25-16, the Panthers started the third set with an 8-1 lead only to have Parkside chip away, fight off three set-points from Drury and win 28-26.
Lexi Turek led the Rangers with 15 kills.
Sarah Kite led the Panthers with a game-high 16 kills.
"We got to the end of a set, got tight and started second-guessing ourselves," said Drury head coach
Jenifer Bahner. "We struggled to finish to each set. It's definitely a mental block that we're in right now. We'll continue to find ways to try and get out of it and be better on Tuesday."
Drury plays their third straight home game on Tuesday when they host Missouri S&T. Game time is at 7 p.m. in the O'Reilly Family Event Center.
