ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Drury and Maryville battled to a scoreless stalemate through regulation and two overtimes on Sunday in St. Louis, Missouri. The tie was the first draw of the season for the Panthers as they ended their day with a record of 5-5-1 and 4-4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Saints moved their record to 8-2-2 and 6-2-2 in the conference.
Drury goalkeeper Nicolas Helin stopped all nine shots on goal from Maryville while Saints goalie Christi Kjaersgaard had five saves. Maryville outshot Drury 14-8.
The tie was the second straight draw for the Saints and maintained their unbeaten streak. Maryville has gone 3-0-2 in their last five games.
The game was Drury's second overtime contest this season. The Panthers defeated Truman State 2-1 in an overtime game on Sept. 22 in Springfield.
Drury plays at home for the first time in three weeks in their next game. The Panthers host Missouri-St. Louis on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
