ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Drury Panthers won their third straight game and handed Maryville only their second conference loss in a 3-1 over the Saints on Sunday in St. Louis.
Drury raised their record to 6-5-1 and 4-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Maryville dropped to 7-3-2 and 6-2-2 in the league.
The Panthers got on the board early as freshman
Savannah Jefferis-Henriques scored her first goal of the season just eight minutes into the match.
The Saints tied it in the 20
th minute on Allison Verville's free kick that found the net. Drury, however, took the lead back just before halftime.
Gabby Menendez scored her fourth goal of the year in the 42
nd minute as she followed up on a rebound.
Abbie Rademacher then added a second half goal for the Panthers to give Drury a 3-1 lead.
Maryville had 12 shots with six on goal. Panthers goalkeeper
Tina Haberberger had five saves while Drury posted nine shots and seven on goal.
The Panthers are home on Friday as they host Missouri-St. Louis. Game time is 5 p.m. at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
