Panthers start 2017 with two games in Nebraska-Kearney Fall Classic
The Drury women's soccer team opens the 2017 season with two games in the Nebraska-Kearney Fall Classic. Friday, the Panthers take on Minnesota State-Moorhead at 4 p.m., and on Sunday, Drury faces Montana State-Billings at 11 a.m.
 
Drury returns 16 letter winners from last year's squad that went 4-10-3. Alf Bilbao enters his 12^th season as head coach of the women's soccer program and has added 10 freshmen to his roster as the Panthers look to bounce back from their first losing season in five years.
 
Among the returners is senior Kerri Morris who enters this season with 13 career goals and 31 points in her three years as a collegiate player. Goalkeeper Tina Haberberger also returns as a senior and brings a career mark of 19-15-9 with a goals against average of 1.09 into this season.
 
The two teams Drury will play in Nebraska will be their first ever encounters with those programs. Minnesota State-Moorhead went 3-14 a year ago while Montana State-Billings was 4-10-3 in 2016.
 
Following the two games in Nebraska, the Panthers will play their final non-conference game of the year with a trip to Southwest Baptist on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
