KEARNEY, Neb. – The Drury women's soccer team started their season with a 1-0 win over Minnesota State-Moorhead in the Nebraska-Kearney Fall Classic on Friday. The game was the season opener for both teams.
The Panthers scored the game's lone goal in the 36
th minute.
Kayla Day put home a header on a rebound that came from a
Kerri Morris shot that hit the post.
Drury's goal would hold up as the Panthers defense limited the Dragons to four shots in the game with only two on goal. Drury goalkeeper
Tina Haberberger stopped both shots as the senior from St. Louis picked up her 15
th career shutout and 20
th career victory.
The Panthers play their second game in the tournament on Sunday as they take on Montana State-Billings at 11 a.m. in Kearney, Nebraska.
