KEARNEY, Neb. – Drury got their second win in the Nebraska-Kearney Fall Classic with a 2-1 win over Montana State-Billings on Sunday. The Panthers improved to 2-0 while Yellowjackets dropped to 0-2.
Drury got on the board seven minutes into the game as
Gabby Menendez scored on a penalty kick. The Panthers took a 2-0 lead as
Kerri Morris scored in the 79
th minute on an assist by
Kayla Day. Montana State-Billings pulled within a goal of the lead with 3:21 remaining on a penalty kick by Alexa Iacolucci.
The Panthers were outshot 11-6 but Drury goalkeeper
Tina Haberberger made eight saves and improved her record to 2-0 with the win.
Drury won their other game in the Nebraska-Kearney Fall Classic with a 1-0 win over Minnesota State-Moorhead on Friday.
The Panthers return to action on Tuesday when they play at Southwest Baptist. Game time is 4 p.m. in Bolivar.
